Easter is here and there's no shortage of egg-citing activities to enjoy with your loved ones in Dorset this year. From Easter egg hunts to thrilling watersports and delicious Sunday roasts, there’s plenty to do throughout the holiday to keep the whole family entertained.

Egg-straordinary Events

From 28th March-7th April, Sherborne Castle is hosting a family fun trail in its beautiful grounds. Kids can follow the trail around the garden, looking for Easter bunnies and solving clues along the way to win prizes. Fancy dress is welcomed!

Head to the Nothe Fort in Weymouth from 28th March for 18 days of cracking activities, including Easter Bunny Croquet, Giant Egg & Spoon Race and Bean Bag Toss at their Easter Fun Fair.

With shows on 13th April, this year’s Easter pantomime at Weymouth Pavilion is Beauty and the Beast, starring Lee Latchford-Evans from Steps as the Prince/Beast. Enjoy fun dance routines, slapstick humour and audience participation.

For those who are fans of Sandworld’s spectacular sculptures, the must-visit attraction in Weymouth will be reopening on 30th March for its ‘From Sci-Fi Adventures to Dinosaurs’ Sand Sculpture Festival.

In Brewery Square in Dorchester on 3rd and 10th April, you can take part in a Circus Skills Workshop. From 2nd-5th April and 9th-12th April, there’ll be an Easter egg hunt. Find all the eggs to receive a prize!

On 31st March, Poundbury will be holding an Easter market with local stalls selling gifts, food and crafts, as well as an Easter egg hunt.

Wimborne Minster’s Easter Fun event on 31st March, 1st and 8th April includes an Easter egg hunt, Easter movies, crafts and toys.

From 29th March-13th April, Blandford Museum will be holding an Easter Bunny Hunt and ‘Make an Easter Basket’ event. Kids can also have fun colouring and playing games.

Spring Family Days Out

Brownsea Island

Take a ferry ride to Brownsea Island in Poole Harbour. This National Trust nature reserve is famous for its red squirrels, diverse wildlife and beautiful scenery. Families can enjoy nature walks, birdwatching and exploring the island's history, including its association with the Boy Scouts movement.

Studland Beach and Nature Reserve

Spend a day at Studland Beach, a stunning stretch of coastline with sandy beaches and clear waters. Enjoy beachcombing, sandcastle building and wandering along the shoreline. The adjacent nature reserve provides opportunities for wildlife spotting and exploring coastal habitats.

Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove

Explore the iconic limestone arch of Durdle Door and the picturesque Lulworth Cove. Enjoy scenic walks along the South West Coast Path, take in breathtaking views of the Jurassic Coast, and perhaps have a picnic on the beach.

Weymouth Sea Life

Head to Weymouth and visit Sea Life for a day of marine discovery. Explore underwater tunnels, see sharks, turtles and colourful fish, and learn about marine conservation efforts. The park also offers outdoor play areas and interactive exhibits suitable for children of all ages.
